Your First Visit

All adults are seen on a private basis. The charge for the first visit is usually the cost of a new patient examination plus 2 - 3 small x-rays.

During your first visit you will have the opportunity to discuss any problems you may be having, or any concerns you may have about the appearance of your teeth. You will be requested to complete a brief medical history questionnaire in advance of your appointment, therefore please bring a list of any medications you are taking.

Following a thorough examination, we will advise you on the full range of treatment options available so that an appropriate written treatment plan can be formulated and provided to you, detailing fees, at the end of your first visit.

Denplan membership is available to our patients here at Forestmead. A convenient monthly payment covers the cost of all necessary dental treatment provided at the practice (excluding laboratory bills and any speciality treatment), with the option of including supplementary insurance which provides out of hours care and Worldwide cover. Should you wish to take up this option, please ask your dentist. Your monthly fee category will be determined by your exisiting dental condition.

Our patients are welcome to register their children at the practice. From an early age it is important for them to have regular check-ups to maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Please ask your dentist about registration for children.

Registration Period

The registration period at the practice is 2 years. If you do not attend for a routine dental check-up, your registration at the practice will lapse, and you will be required to re-register. We will try to book you with the same dentist, but this may not always be possible.

Orthodontic Treatments

We now have different types of orthodontic treatments available at Forestmead:

Clear Braces (In-Line)

Clear, removable mouth guards that straighten teeth.

This is a fixed brace with white brackets and white wire to straighten your smile – 6 monthly average treatment time.

6 Month Smile

This is a clear brace system designed to straighten teeth in about 6 months.

Local Orthodontics

Dental Implants

Dental implants are one way of replacing missing teeth. A dental implant is a small titanium screw surgically placed in the jaw providing an anchor for the new tooth or teeth.

Many people choose them because the result is a very natural appearance, they are not removable, you cannot see the supporting mechanism and they are very stable. As they do not require any reduction of your remaining teeth, they are the gold standard technique for replacement. Forestmead do have a visiting implant surgeon and are working with the Implant Centre in Haywards Heath to offer our patients the best Dental Implant Care.

If you would like further information please talk to your dentist, or visit The Implant Centre website -

Tooth Whitening

This is a safe and effective way of brightening teeth and removing years of stain build up by coffee, tea, smoking and red wine.
